Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority is an agency that operates public transportation in the Los Angeles metropolitan area. It was formed in 1993 out of a merger of the Southern California Rapid Transit District and the Los Angeles County Transportation Commission. It is chartered under state law as a regional transportation planning agency.
Union Station (Los Angeles)

Los Angeles Union Station (LAUS) is the main railway station in Los Angeles, California, and the largest railroad passenger terminal in the Western United States. Union Station is located on the original site of the Tongva village of Yaanga, which was "believed to have been the largest of the Tongva villages." It opened in May 1939 as the Los Angeles Union Passenger Terminal, replacing La Grande Station and Central Station, and celebrated its 80th birthday in 2019.
Civic Center/Grand Park station

Civic Center/Grand Park, formerly Civic Center, is a heavy-rail subway station in the Los Angeles County Metro Rail system. It is located on Hill Street between 1st and Temple Streets in the Civic Center area of Downtown Los Angeles. The station is officially named Civic Center/Grand Park/Tom Bradley after former Los Angeles mayor Tom Bradley, who had a pivotal role in turning the subway into reality.
Pershing Square station

Pershing Square is a heavy-rail subway station in the Los Angeles County Metro Rail system. It is located on Hill Street between 4th and 5th Streets, near Pershing Square in Downtown Los Angeles. This station is served by the Metro Red Line and the Metro Purple Line and various local bus services. The Metro Silver Line heading northbound to El Monte Station stops at the street level. The Metro Silver Line heading southbound to Harbor Gateway Transit Center does not stop near the station. The station uses an island platform layout and is decorated with a neon art piece by Stephen Antonakos. The work pays tribute to the first neon sign in the United States, which was hung in 1924 in the Pershing Square area. The station installed station canopies for the stations entrance in 2014. 7th Street/Metro Center station

7th Street/Metro Center is a subway station in the Los Angeles Metro Rail system. It is located in the Financial District of Downtown Los Angeles at the intersection of 7th Street and Flower Street.
Metro Rapid

Metro Rapid is a local express bus service in Los Angeles County, California with bus rapid transit characteristics. It operates in mixed traffic environments and has fewer stops than the Metro Local service. The system is mainly operated by Metro. Two routes are operated by Big Blue Bus, one by Culver CityBus and one by Torrance Transit. The Rapid program speeds up travel time for passengers, complementing the Metro Local bus network operated by the Metro as well as other bus routes operated by smaller agencies.
Metro Local
Metro Local is a bus service type in Los Angeles County operated by the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro). This retronym designation was placed to differentiate it from the Metro Rapid service. Metro Local buses cover both local, limited-stop, and shuttle bus services.
Harbor Transitway
The Harbor Transitway is an 11 miles (18 km) shared-use bus corridor (transitway) and high-occupany toll roadway that runs in the median of Interstate 110 in Southern California. The main bus service operating on the busway is the Metro Silver Line which was introduced on December 13, 2009. The Metro Silver Line bus rapid transit line runs on the Harbor Transitway from Harbor Gateway Transit Center to Downtown Los Angeles and continues to El Monte Bus Station. The line operates daily with frequent service. In addition to Metro Silver Line, other Metro bus and municipal bus routes also operate on the Harbor Transitway. They include Metro Express lines 442, 460 and 550, Torrance Transit line 4, Gardena Transit line 1X and Orange County Transportation Authority lines 701, 721. Metro Express lines 442 and 550 operate only during weekdays peak hours. Metro Line 442 operates peak a.m. northbound only and southbound p.m. only. Torrance Transit line 4, Gardena Transit line 1X, and Orange County Transportation Authority: 701, 721 operate only during weekday peak hours. Metro Express line 460 operates daily along with the Metro Silver Line. Busway bus lines originate from Downtown Los Angeles and El Monte, with final destinations in Disneyland, and Disney California Adventure Park located in Anaheim, Knott's Berry Farm, Artesia, Fullerton, Gardena, Hawthorne, Huntington Beach, San Pedro and Torrance.
El Monte Busway

The El Monte Busway is an 11-mile (18 km) shared-use express bus corridor (busway) and high occupancy toll lane running west along Interstate 10 from Interstate 605 and El Monte Station in El Monte, California, via busway stations at Cal State LA station and LA County+USC Medical Center station into Downtown Los Angeles and its terminus at Union Station.
LA County+USC Medical Center station
Los Angeles County+USC Medical Center is a station on the El Monte Busway located near the medical center of the same name in Boyle Heights. The station entrance is located on the intersection of Pomeroy Avenue and Kingston Avenue. The station is somewhat isolated, with passengers needing to make a 5-minute walk to the medical center campus or bus connections on Marengo Street.
Cal State LA station
Cal State LA is a commuter train, bus rapid transit, and local bus station beside Interstate 10 at its namesake campus. It is located in the El Sereno neighborhood of the City of Los Angeles and Eastside region, in southern California. It began service as a bus station in 1973 and a train station in 1994.
El Monte Station

El Monte Station is a large regional bus station in the city of El Monte, California, United States, adjacent to Interstate 10, serving the Metro Silver Line, Foothill Transit, Greyhound Lines, and El Monte Transit. It is the Metro Silver Line's eastern terminus. According to Metro, the station is the largest bus-only transit station west of Chicago.

Generally, express routes operated by MTA Bus Company or Academy Bus are assigned multi-borough prefixes. Exceptions to this rule are 7 Brooklyn and Queens express routes operated by MTA New York City Transit. Those routes use an X prefix.
List of bus routes in Nassau County, New York
The following bus routes are operated in Nassau County, New York. Most of these routes are operated under Nassau Inter-County Express (NICE), formerly MTA Long Island Bus, except in Greater Long Beach, where that city operates its own bus service through Long Beach Bus. Some of them are the direct descendants of streetcar lines, and most were previously privately operated prior to 1973. These routes are designated on the buses, bus stop signs, and timetables with a lowercase "n". Previously, the routes were designated with an uppercase "N", akin to routes in bus systems surrounding the area. Note that the buses purchased secondhand from Foothill Transit still display the uppercase "N" on their signs.

The Bee-Line Bus System, the bus system for Westchester County, operates a network of bus routes throughout Westchester County, serving destinations throughout much of the county and parts of The Bronx in New York City. Even though not used officially by Bee-Line, routes tend to be identified with a "W" prefix, akin to the routing system in New York City. The process is most evident at bus stops in the Bronx and usage by the MTA and New York City government in various media. Silver Line (Los Angeles Metro)

The Silver Line is a 38 mi (61 km) limited-stop bus route with some bus rapid transit features that runs between El Monte, Downtown Los Angeles and Gardena, with some trips continuing to San Pedro. It is one of the two lines in the Metro Busway system and is operated by the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro).
LATTC/Ortho Institute station
LATTC/Ortho Institute, officially Los Angeles Trade-Technical College/Orthopaedic Institute for Children (formerly 23rd Street), is an at-grade light rail station in the Los Angeles County Metro Rail system, located on Flower Street at 23rd Street, in the North University Park neighborhood of Los Angeles. This station is served by the E Line. It is also served by the Metro Silver Line. Northbound Silver Line buses to Downtown Los Angeles stop at Figueroa St./23rd Street. Southbound Silver Line buses to Harbor Gateway Transit Center/Pacific/21st Street stop at Flower St./ 23rd Street.
Valley Metro Bus

Valley Metro Bus is a transit bus system for public transport in Maricopa County, Arizona, United States. Buses are operated by private companies contracted by Valley Metro and the City of Phoenix. Service currently operates throughout the broader Phoenix Metropolitan Area. All buses have wheelchair ramps or lifts, and with the exception of paratransit vehicles all buses have bike racks.
