Palliative Medicine is a peer-reviewed academic journal that publishes papers in the field of Medicine. The journal's editor is Catherine Walshe (Manchester University). It has been in publication since 1987 and is currently published by SAGE Publications on behalf of European Association for Palliative Care.

Scope[edit]

Palliative Medicine aims to improve knowledge and clinical practice in the palliative care of patients with far advanced disease. The journal publishes editorials, original papers, review articles and case reports.

Abstracting and indexing[edit]

Palliative Medicine is abstracted and indexed in, among other databases: SCOPUS, and the Social Sciences Citation Index. According to the Journal Citation Reports, its 2010 impact factor is 2.515, ranking it 31 out of 151 journals in the category ‘Medicine, General & Internal’.[1] and 13 out of 71 journals in the category ‘Health Care Sciences & Services’.[2] and 35 out of 140 journals in the category ‘Public, Environmental & Occupational Health’.[3]
